Kerry Moore, CDTA Associate Member.

Teacher, Choreographer ~ Tap, Ballet & Jazz

Kerry is the owner and director of the Kerry Moore School of Dance.

Her passion for dance began at the tender age of two in her birthplace of Poole, Dorset, England.   After relocating to Canada, she pursued dance passionately and completed her examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet, as well as the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA) for Tap and Jazz.

She competed and performed throughout her years of dance.  Among Kerry’s notable performances are roles in ‘Kiss Me Kate,’ ‘Carousel,’ and ‘The King and I,’ directed by the esteemed Alan Lund.  She graced the stage for the last time at 41 and now delights in imparting her passion and expertise in dance to her students at KMSD.

Driven by her passion for dance and the cherished memories of her own training, she founded the Kerry Moore School of Dance in Hanover in 2009. The sight of the studio flourishing with joyful students and visiting alumni fills her with immense happiness.

Kelly McGregor ~BATD Member, ScotDance Canada.

Teacher, Choreographer ~ Highland

Kelly McGregor has an impressive background in dance, starting her training at the age of 4 at the Sheila Milne School of Dance in Owen Sound. She has studied various dance styles including Ballet, Highland, Irish, Jazz, and Modern. Kelly has completed her Elementary level exams in Ballet with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and in Modern with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD).  She has earned Lifetime Member status with the British Association of Teachers of Dance (BATD) for Highland Dance.

Kelly has competed and performed extensively across North America and even at prestigious venues like Walt Disney World in Florida and the Royal Glasgow Concert Hall in Scotland. She has over 20 years of teaching experience and is currently a valued member of the Kerry Moore School of Dance (KMSD) in Hanover, where she has been teaching since 2009.

Whether it’s traditional Highland Dance or a beautiful performance piece, Kelly’s dancers are always a delight to watch!  Kelly’s passion for dance and performance has driven her to achieve remarkable success and share her expertise with her students!

Cindy Martin ~ Teacher, Choreographer ~ Musical Theatre, Modern & Lyrical

Cindy began her dance journey at age 11, training in Modern, Jazz, Musical Theatre, and Ballet in various studios in Toronto.

During her training, Cindy excelled in competitions across Southwestern Ontario, securing numerous silver and gold medals. Her passion for dance led to numerous public performances, including at the Canadian National Exhibition, on the “Talent Showcase” TV show, and in the musical “Jesus Christ Superstar.” Additionally, Cindy claimed the Peel Regional gymnastics championship on the balance beam in 1974. She earned a diploma in child studies from Sheridan College and participated in multiple teaching workshops at the National Ballet.

Since 1986, Cindy has been dedicated to teaching dance, which is her true passion. She created a dance program for a public school in Hanover, volunteering as a dance teacher for two years. She has instructed students from ages 3 to 33 in Jazz, Musical Theatre, Modern, and Contemporary dance at various studios in the Grey Bruce region. Cindy’s students have consistently achieved success in local festivals and competitions. Notably, one of her musical theatre groups was awarded the esteemed “Bruce Power Trophy” for the highest dance mark at the Midwestern Ontario Rotary Music Festival.

Lauren Dauphin ~ Teacher, Choreographer ~ Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary & Musical Theatre.

Lauren’s dance journey began at the tender age of four at Florence Abel’s School of Dance in Chatham, Ontario. Her passion and aptitude for dance blossomed as she excelled in her Tap exams with the BATD, earning the highest honors. In Ballet, under the RAD syllabus, she distinguished herself by securing top grades in her class.

Throughout her teen years, Lauren was a prominent figure in numerous theatrical productions. Her creative choreography and ensemble performances garnered her multiple accolades at the Ontario Sears Drama Festivals.

After high school, Lauren pursued higher education at York University, majoring in Business and minoring in Dance. Under the tutelage of the renowned Claire Wootton, her passion for the performing arts soared. Residing in Toronto, she immersed herself in diverse dance workshops, cultivating a love for various dance genres, including Jazz, Modern, and Hip Hop.

Lauren has a passion for excellence and she is dedicated to fostering the same from her students.

Melissa Holliday ~ Teacher, Choreographer ~ Ballet, Jazz, KMSD Kids

Melissa Holliday started her dance journey at the age of 4, focusing on Step Dance for 14 years and participating in numerous group and solo competitions.   She later expanded her repertoire to include Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Ballet, and Pointe at Kerry Moore School of Dance (KMSD). This progression led her to assist in classes and eventually teach her own.

Melissa currently teaches several popular programs at KMSD, including the KMSD Kids class, Ballet & Jazz Sparkles, Ballet & Jazz Gems and Ballet Juniors.  Her dedication and passion for dance shine through in her teaching, making her a beloved instructor at the school.

Olivia Smith ~ Dancer.  Teacher, Choreographer ~ Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop

Olivia has been passionately involved in dance since the age of three, excelling in various styles including Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Pointe, Modern, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Highland, and Hip Hop.

She started her dance journey under Miss Kerry’s guidance at the age of four and began assisting with several classes during her teenage years.

With more than five years of teaching experience at KMSD, Olivia’s infectious enthusiasm has made her a favorite among her students.

We are excited to announce Olivia’s return from her maternity leave!

Meri Moore ~ Dancer.  Teacher, Choreographer ~ Tap, Jazz & Hip Hop

Meri began her dance journey at KMSD when she was just three years old, starting with the Tiny Tots class, and she has been dedicated ever since.

Her training is extensive, covering Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Highland, Modern, Contemporary, and Lyrical dance forms.

Meri creates and leads the PD Day Dance Camps and Summer Dance Camps at KMSD. She also contributes to the studio’s extremely popular Birthday Parties.

In 2024, Meri was honored with a 15-year dance award at KMSD. As a devoted and skilled dancer, she plays a significant role in the studio.

Madalynn McGregor ~ Dancer.  Teacher, Choreographer ~ Tap & Ballet

Madalynn has been a part of KMSD from the beginning, mastering various dance styles such as Highland, Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Jazz, and Tap. She has also dedicated many years to Irish dancing, competing throughout North America in both Irish and Highland categories, including the World Irish Dance Championships. Her passion extends to performing on stage and undertaking dance examinations in both Irish and Highland dance.   Madalynn is now an Associate Teacher of Highland Dancing with the British Association of Teachers of Dance and in 2024 Madalynn received her 15-year dance award at KMSD.

She is excited to share her passion for dance and movement to her students this year!

Avery McGregor ~ Dancer. Teacher, Choreographer ~ Tap & Ballet.

Avery McGregor has been a dancer at Kerry Moore School of Dance since the age of two, training in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary and Highland dance.  She has also trained extensively in Irish dance.    She has participated in Highland and Irish dance competitions throughout North America and has had the privilege of performing at the World Irish Dancing Championships on multiple occasions.    Avery has passed her Associate Teacher’s exam with the British Association of Teachers of Dance and has completed most of her Irish dance examinations.  In 2024, Avery received her 15 year award for dance at KMSD.

Her passion for dance shines brightest when performing, and she looks forward to the KMSD shows every spring.

Avery is eagerly looking forward to her first year teaching at KMSD, which is celebrating its 16th season.

Shannon Moore ~ Studio Manager

In 2009, Shannon and her husband Kevin passed by our studio, saw the name MOORE, and joked, “With that name, they must be good!” They enrolled their three-year-old daughter Meri, and their new chapter began.

Shannon dedicates countless hours volunteering at the studio, expertly managing the front waiting room. Parents and students have come to rely on her, often saying, “Just ask Shannon,” for any inquiries they have.

It was a fortunate twist of fate that the shared surname led her to KMSD, and now, it’s hard to envision the studio without her.
